Why do I need to send notifications and specify a time? Why do you have time slots?
A:
The main reason for this is: We are not a kennel. The dogs are not securely tucked away in crates or cages. So we take the necessary precautions to keep surprises and spikes in energy levels to a minimum for the safety of all the dogs staying at the BnB.
When we "hang" by the window constantly checking to see whether you have arrived because you said you would "be there at 10:30" they get anxious. Then you drop your dog off and we have to bring him or her into a very highly energised bunch of dogs. It's not fair to your hound.
EXAMPLES:
If we know you are on your way, what time you expect to be there and you then again let us know when you are coming off the N1 or turning in at the 4way stop we are able to keep the energy at a nice stable level and your dog gets brought into a much calmer and less intimidating environment.
The same goes for when you pick your dog's up. If you "suddenly" show up ("suddenly" is also when you said you would be here at 10:30 and then arrive 15 minutes earlier or later without letting us know) then it can be quite chaotic when we have to suddenly scramble to get your dog or dog's out the door.
We ask that you please take into consideration the well-being of your own dog as well as other owners' dogs when it comes to arriving at the BBnB. It may seem like "only" 5 minutes to you but it makes a very very big difference to us. All we ask is that you keep us informed with times and please don't be vague (eg: "after lunch", "dinner time", "about an hour", "between 3 and 5", etc).
We have the time slots also for the sake of the dogs (and our neighbours). We can contain the "excitement" to certain times of the day and then we are able to dedicate the rest of our day to focus our attention on them for exercise, mental stimulation, love and cuddles. For our neighbours it means they don't have to deal with the constant sound of Beagle excitement.
